EFC CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME IN MICROSOFT OFFICE 2010 (2:00 PM - 5:00 PM)
1. With the growth of Information Technology, it is imperative that employees at all levels have a sound knowledge of IT. Basic computer skills, therefore, becomes an essential skill that an employee needs to have, in addition to having language skills and the relevant competency skills required for the job.

2. Although most employees in the private sector at middle and higher levels do have sound IT skills, there are quite a few employees who do not possess the relevant skills that are required in an office environment.

3. The EFC has identified this aspect and has decided to conduct a certificate programme in Microsoft Office, which will include Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. This programme will cover all aspects in relation to these areas and also impart knowledge in respect of other areas in relation to the operation of computers in an office environment.

4. The specific modules covered by the programme are attached.

5. The programme will be conducted at the EFC Auditorium from 22nd February 2012 from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. and would thereafter continue on every Wednesday of each week at the same time for a period of 12 weeks.

6. This programme will be conducted by our IT Network Administrator. It will be conducted both in English and in Sinhala as it would enable a wider category of employees to follow the course.

7. The training programme will culminate in the award of a certificate consequent to assessments that would be made during the course.

8. The course fee per participant will be Rs 9,000/- + VAT (12%) for EFC members and         Rs 10,000/- + VAT (12%) for non members. This will cover the course material as well.

9. Nominations will be received on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. The annexed form should be sent in respect of nominations and cheques drawn in favour of “The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon”. Nominations should be sent on or before 10th February 2012. You may contact the Training Division or Mr Dasun Nalinda, IT Network Administrator on 2867966-8 (e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
