We are pleased to announce that we are now open to accept registrations for “Compliance +”, the EFCs branded audit certification based on the values of Core Labour Standards. This patented certification was developed with technical assistance from the International Labour Organization (ILO).The certification is supported by the International Organization of Employers (IOE). 


Established 90 years ago, the EFC is proud to be associated with a membership of employers who are not only compliant of local labour laws but have voluntarily complied with many labour as well as other related international standards pertaining to occupational safety and health, environment etc. Hence, we took it upon ourselves to highlight these achievements and embarked in developing an innovative branded certification to the level of an Internationally acclaimed standard. Compliance + has been hailed as a best employment practice both locally as well as overseas.  It has been commended as a model to be followed at numerous meetings/workshops held by the International Labour Organization (ILO) including the occasion when it was first presented to the Employers Group of the ILO at the International Labour Conference in 2015. 

We are also proud to state that 10 members have already been certified during the pilot phase of the introduction of this employment related audit tool which recognizes employers who surpass mandatory standards and excel in them in the following areas.  

  • Equal opportunities for employment
  • Employer – employee relations
  • Work arrangement practices
  • Environment 

The audit will be conducted by an independent internationally acclaimed firm with audit teams visiting Companies and obtaining necessary information from both employers and workers. On completion of the audit the employer undergoing the process will receive a report under 

confidential cover. Successful completion of the audit will result in the employer receiving the brand certification “Compliance +” that will be valid for a period of 2 years. Any employer that may require further adjustments/corrective action to be taken will be afforded a limited time (time bound) to rectify and place itself before the audit team. 

In keeping with our partnership with “Great Place to Work”, arrangements have been made for employers who are Great Place to Work-CertifiedTM  -  to receive due weightage when being assessed for the “Compliance +” certification. 

  • Certified employers will be entitled to the following benefits: 
  • The certification of “Compliance +” valid for a period of two years
  • To use the brand name “Compliance +” for the certified period
  • To use the brand name “Compliance +” in the company letterheads, email signatures, visiting cards etc during the certified period
  • The certified company/enterprise will be provided with a flag with the brand name “Compliance +” and stickers indicating the certified period

Note: This initiative is not limited to member companies and we will welcome the introduction of any non- member by members to obtain this branded certification.
