There is a great interest among regional business communities following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Employers Federation of Ceylon (EFC) and two regional chambers in Hambantota and Jaffna last month. A senior EFC team will head to Hambantota tomorrow to meet the District Chamber of Commerce and key businessmen in the area. "Hambantota is a key commercial hub. It is also a region which needs the EFC's advisory services on business development and formalization," Hambantota's Chamber of Commerce Director Suresh de Mel said. EFC Director General Ravi Peiris and Deputy Director General Kanishka Weerasinghe will introduce a series of workshops on good employment and business practices to the region. They will be accompanied by the EFC's vice chairman and award winning specialist in the area of business productivity, Sunil Wijesinha for the Hambantota workshop.
